Sue Maitland, PCC, is an ICF-accredited coach who has spent over a decade
helping professionals navigate career transitions and build confidence in their
strengths and ability to contribute to their organizations. A consistent theme in
her coaching work has been supporting clients who struggle with imposter
syndrome – often without realizing it.
As Sue deepened her research into this phenomenon, she recognized how imposter
feelings had shown up throughout her own successful career in Information Technology
Consulting. This insight led her to focus on the broader impact of imposter syndrome –
not only on individuals, but also on team dynamics and organizational performance.
Today, Sue is a sought-after speaker on imposter syndrome. She is committed to
helping people identify how this phenomenon affects their behaviour, wellbeing, and
productivity, and to equipping leaders with practical strategies to foster psychologically
healthy, high-performing teams. She believes that organizations can unlock significant
untapped potential when they understand and address imposter syndrome in their
workforce.
In addition to her 1-on-1 coaching work, Sue delivers workshops, creates online courses
– including Break Free from Imposter Syndrome – and leads the Connect & Thrive
Community for professionals seeking ongoing support and personal and professional
growth in their career journeys.
Her mission is simple: to help people stop second-guessing themselves, confidently
claim the unique value they bring and live up to their full potential. She also advocates
for increased awareness among leaders, many of whom experience imposter syndrome
themselves, often silently.
Sue is the CEO of Connect & Thrive Coaching, based in Victoria, BC, Canada and
works with individuals and organizations around the world.
