What happens when thoughtful coaches, researchers, and practitioners gather? Ideas intersect, perspectives expand, and conversation takes new shape. As relatively new fields of study and practice, positive psychology and coaching psychology are evolving all the time, and IPPA is always looking for ways to add value for our members.

Welcome to the Coaching Collaboratory—an evolving space within the International Positive Psychology Association (IPPA) for those who see coaching as both a discipline and an ongoing inquiry into human interaction.

The Collaboratory is more than a series of events—it is a space for exploration, practice, and dialogue. We are beginning with live, interactive sessions, but this is just the starting point. What follows depends on the people who engage. It could be collaborative research, shared writing projects, or local groups forming to extend the conversation. However it develops, the Collaboratory is defined by those who contribute.

Each session features concise insights from leading voices—such as our inaugural guests, Dr. Robert Biswas-Diener and Prof. Christian van Nieuwerburgh, authors of Radical Listening: The Art of True Connection—followed by discussions and hands-on practice that continue beyond the event itself.

This is a space for thoughtful inquiry and meaningful exchange. The Collaboratory grows through shared curiosity and collective engagement. It is where research and practice inform one another and where the coaching community comes together to learn in action.

For this initial Collaboratory, Haesun Moon, Ph.D., in combination with those who wish to join in, will be conducting an interview of the authors for the initial 20 minutes, followed by a 30 minute “world cafe,” to discuss and then a final 10 minutes to celebrate our Collaboratory launch.

Join us on April 2nd at 4pm EDT to learn more about Christian’s and Robert’s new book, and to help in shaping this space. Bring your insights, your questions, and your perspectives. Let’s explore what this collective can become.
