Join IPPA Work and Organizations Division for a panel discussion exploring how meaning and purpose can be brought to life in workplace practice. Featuring voices from research and practice, this conversation will examine how these ideas can shape leadership, culture, and organizational life in ways that foster more human, values-aligned, and meaningful workplaces.

Together, panelists will share insights, examples, and reflections on the opportunities and challenges of translating meaning- and purpose-centered perspectives into real organizational settings. Attendees can expect a thoughtful and engaging conversation on how these ideas can move beyond theory and contribute to workplace life with greater depth, relevance, and impact.

Biographies:

Lucy Traynor

  • Lucy is founder of purpose-led consultancy Magnificent Roots. She helps organisations to embed purpose and create broad value for all stakeholders- customers, employees, shareholders, society and planet.
  • She previously led the Purpose strategy for Deloitte UK, where she led a bold firmwide purpose strategy ‘profit with purpose’ and embedded it across five businesses and 27,000 employees. Lucy created a framework to measure purpose in business and make it tangible.
  • Her whole career, from the frontline of education and charity executive, to leading Purpose at Deloitte and founding Magnificent Roots, has been defined by leading impact and challenging systemic inequality: supporting under-privileged children in the UK education system, to serving underserved banking customers and creating family friendly workplaces.
  • A trusted expert, Lucy speaks on global stages and is a returning judge for the Lloyds British Business Excellence Awards.
  • Lucy is writing a book celebrating purpose and meaningful work, told through real life stories. She is Trustee of a refugee employment charity, and a 3x marathon runner and long-time fundraiser for a wonderful Multiple Sclerosis charity.
Kiko Kislansky

Kiko Kislansky is an international speaker, social entrepreneur, and psychotherapist who has spent the last decade helping individuals and organizations translate purpose into meaningful action, culture, and performance. He also teaches purpose studies as a guest professor in universities around the world.

He is the founder of the Global Purpose School and creator of the Life Purpose Trainer and Business Purpose Consultant certifications, as well as the first postgraduate program in Purpose Studies. Kiko is also a co-founder of the World Meaning & Purpose Summit, a global gathering that brings together researchers, leaders, and practitioners from multiple continents to advance the science and practice of meaning and purpose.

He holds certifications in Evolutionary Coaching, Logotherapy, and Positive Psychology and throughout his career, he has led purpose-driven projects across diverse contexts — including universities, schools, public sector institutions, city governments, and multinational corporations — supporting leaders and systems in integrating purpose at scale.

Kiko has authored 10 books, including The Purpose Revolution, and has supported over 500 organizations, impacting thousands of people across 25+ countries and five continents. His work integrates science, spirituality, and economics to create practical methodologies for living and leading with purpose.

Thomas Eckschmidt

Father of Gabriela, Husband of Ana Maria, and an enthusiast of conscious business and coops.

Former farmer, with an engineer degree and Executive MBA in Finance, Thomas worked in 15 different countries, Thomas had a corporate career for 10 years, migrated to another decade of consulting work before launching himself as a serial entrepreneur. As an entrepreneur, Thomas receiver 12 awards (innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainability), filed 4 patents and published 30 books and multiple Best Sellers, and International speaker with 5 TEDx.

Thomas has launched Conscious Capitalism movement in Latin America, helps chapter all around the world, he has certified over 1,200 consultants in 23 countries and runs the largest network of consultants to accelerate the UPGRADE of leaders and their organizations, to create a more conscious business ecosystem.

Helena Marujo
Helena Águeda Marujo holds a PhD in Psychology from the University of Lisbon. She is an Associate Professor at theScool of Social snd Political Sciences of the University of Lisbon, where she served for over a decade as Executive Coordinator and lecturer in Master’s and and Doctoral programs in Human Resources Development Policies. Since its inception in 2012, she has been the Scientific Coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Applied Positive Psychology and an integrated researcher at the Center for Administration and Public Policies (CAPP). At ISCSP, she also coordinated the Psychology Disciplinary Units and created the innovative project to promote well-being at a university in Portugal, called ISCSP-Wellbeing. She co-created and has been the coordinator, for approximately 8 years, of the UNESCO Chair in Education for Sustainable Global Peace at the University of Lisbon. She is a member of the Advisory Board of the International Positive Psychology Association, the Board of Directors of the European Network of Positive Psychology, and was President of the Portuguese Association for Studies and Intervention in Positive Psychology. She is an Associate of the TAOS Institute and was an associate member of TILAC – Taos Institute Latin America, Portugal and Spain Council and TIPE – Taos Iberia, Spain and Portugal. Author of numerous scientific and popular science works, her most recent publication in Portuguese, co-authored by RH Editora, is the book “Humanizing Organizations: New Meanings for People Management”.
