Meet Dr. Richard Tedeschi, winner of the 2025 IPPA Global Positive Health & Wellbeing Practitioner Award. Dr. Tedeschi is the pioneering scientist (along with Lawrence Calhoun) who founded the field of Posttraumatic Growth. Although everyone has heard of PTSD, more than 67% of people experience Posttraumatic Growth in the aftermath of challenges, trauma, and loss. Dr. Tedeschi is the Executive Director of the Boulder Crest Institute for Posttraumatic Growth and Professor Emeritus in the Department of Psychological Sciences at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where he served for 42 years. Rich has been an active clinician and author of ten books. is considered the foremost authority on PTG and Stanford University named him in the top 2% of the world’s most cited researchers. You’ll learn about the process of “how we grow” in the aftermath of trauma. You’ll experience “where we grow” which are known as the five domains of PTG which include: New Possibilities; Deeper Relationships; Personal Strength; Appreciation for Life; and Spiritual and Existential Change.”
